How to: Caring for your Asko Steam Combi Oven

A clean oven will make your food taste better as it won’t be absorbing baked on fats and carbon-based fumes released by food remnants and will therefore cook more efficiently and won’t smell unpleasant.

In a steam oven it is good practice to empty the water reservoir after the steam oven functions have finished for the day, especially if the steam functions are not being used for an extended period of time.

Wiping out the oven after using the steam or added steam functions assists in the maintenance of the oven.
In addition to wiping around the seal with a dry cloth to remove excess moisture and leaving the door ajar for a few minutes after using the steam oven function every time, there are two further cleaning functions available in the ASKO steam oven :

STEAM CLEAN – with the steam clean function and a damp cloth, grease and food particles are softened and therefore easier to remove.

This process is accessed by tapping EXTRAS and then opening CLEANING and then confirming. Once this 30-minute process has been completed, most food particles can be wiped away with a damp cloth. Wipe oven seal dry and leave oven door open until interior is completely dry. If stubborn stains persist try spot clean with baking soda and white vinegar paste. Avoid any abrasive products eg steel wool or abrasive cleaning agents as they will cause damage to the surface. If you need to use a spray oven cleaner, avoid spraying around the oven vents.

DESCALING – descaling is the process of removing any residual mineral build up in the steam system.

The oven will prompt when it is necessary to descale the oven. If the oven is not descaled after 3 notifications, steam functions will no longer be available. Easy to follow step by step instructions are displayed during the entire process.

Clean the exterior of the oven with a little detergent mixed in warm water and a clean cloth or use a microfibre or euro cloth.
