Steam Combi Recipe: Steamed Ginger Soy Fish

This recipe is so simple in a steam oven, and is so light and fresh. You can also steam your rice at the same time (Put the rice in the oven before the fish) along with any other vegetables you wish to serve.

 

METHOD

  1. Place ¾ of the ginger, ½ the chilli and the chopped coriander, and spring onion in the base of a dish deep enough to take all the ingredients.
  2. Place fish on top.
  3. Pour over soy sauce, mirin and sesame oil.
  4. Sprinkle remaining ginger and chilli on top of the fish
  5. Set the oven to Steam 85C
  6. Steam 7-10 minutes (after oven has come to temperature) depending on the thickness of the fish
  7. Decorate with remaining spring onion and coriander
  8. Serve with rice and steamed vegetables

Serves 2

2 fillets firm white fish
1 large knob ginger, peeled and sliced into fine matchsticks
1/4c golden soy sauce
2 T mirin
1 T sesame oil
2 spring onions , whites chopped, reserve some greens for decoration
½ – 1 red chilli finely sliced 
Handful coriander leaves, chopped but reserve a few for decoration
