Porridge (Oatmeal) cooked in the steam oven is so much nicer than cooked on the stove top or in the microwave. Unlike the microwave where you have to watch every second to make sure the oats do not overflow, or the stove top where you must keep an extra low heat to avoid sticking and burning, cooking in the steam oven results in a beautifully soft and silky breakfast with no chance of burning or overflow and the texture is retained in the oats which dont explode as they tend to do with other cooking methods.
Additionally you can use whatever liquid you like to cook your oats in – be it juice, water, milk or cream, you can tailor the taste and nutrition to suit your taste. Add any dried fruit you like before you cook, or add cooked fruit or nuts after it comes out of the oven.
