Steam Combi Recipe: Simple Savoury Pinwheels

These very simple and quick to cook snacks are perfect for pre dinner nibbles or afternoon drinks. The filling can be adapted to whatever you have in your fridge or pantry. Double or triple the recipe as they are very morish and wont last long.

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven Steam Combi ( Fan Assisted + 40% steam or similar function)  210C
  2. Line a baking tray with baking paper
  3. Brush one edge of the pastry sheet with egg.
  4. Spread the onion jam in a thin layer all over the sheet of pastry leaving the brushed edge free 
  5. Sprinkle on cheese 
  6. Tightly roll up the sheet 
  7. Brush entire roll with egg wash 
  8. Cut into 12 even sized slices and place cut side down on baking paper lined oven tray, and brush top with egg wash
  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed .

1 sheet of Puff Pastry
1 egg, beaten, for egg wash
1/4 c premade onion jam or chutney
1/2 cup tasty cheddar cheese, or mixture of cheddar, parmesan and or blue cheese
