With a bit of imagination, something as simple as some bread rolls can become an awesome Christmas table centrepiece, that is until it is so quickly demolished because its so delicious.
METHOD
- Add flour and butter to mixer and then add other dry ingredients and mix well.
- Add egg milk and water and knead on medium speed until well mixed, then knead on low speed for 7 minutes or until dough is silky and smooth.
- Let rise in oiled bowl for 45 minutes or until double in size.
- Divide into 26 25g pieces and form balls, then roll using the palm of your hand until smooth and round.
- Arrange balls in a triangular Christmas tree shape starting with 1 ball at the top gradually increasing the number of balls in each row and finishing with a row of 5 balls at the bottom. Use last 4 balls as a trunk.
- Leave small gaps between each ball as the rolls will rise and expand.
- Leave to rise, lightly covered for 30 minutes
- Insert rosemary into gaps between rolls if using
- Heat oven to 180c fan assisted+steam or 180c hot air/fan forced + steam
- Cook for 12-16 minutes or until golden.
- While rolls are cooking melt butter with garlic and chopped parsley
- Remove rolls from oven and while still hot brush liberally with garlic butter mixture.
