
The Smeg Hand Blender and its food processor attachment mean making dips and hummus is so simple. You can experiment with flavours and spices from this recipe and come up with your own “signature” hummus.
METHOD
For the Hummus
- Blend all the ingredients in the food processor until smooth.
- Add enough water or aquafaba from the can of chickpeas (if necessary) to make a paste.
If desired you could add any of the following to flavour your hummus- Grilled Capsicum, Sundried tomatoes, Caramelised Onion, Blue cheese, feta, chilli, Roast vegetables etc
For the Dukkah
- Lightly chop all ingredients in the food processor bowl of the Smeg hand blender, being sure to leave some chunks.
- Put hummus into serving bowl and top with Dukkah
- Serve with crackers or bread.
For the Hummus
1 can Chickpeas, drained
¼ cup tahini
¼ cup lemon juice
Grated zest of one lemon
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 t cumin
1 t moroccan seasoning
2-3 T olive oil
Water or aquafaba liquid from chickpeas to blend.
For the Dukkah
70gms shelled pistachios
1 t fennel seeds
1 tcumin seeds
1 t moroccan seasoning.
